A flyer distributed at a public hearing in Prince George's County in Maryland subtly placed the blame for the recent Baltimore violence and chaos on the Jewish people, saying if America didn't send so much money to Israel, there would be more for the siege-torn city.
"From Baltimore to Jerusalem It's the Same Game in 10 years. Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin sent 1.2 billion dollars of Maryland Federal taxpayer money to the Apartheid state of Israel to build schools, roads and other infrastructure while saying Maryland doesn't have the money to help develop our communities," the opening of the flyer read, the blog Israel Matzav reported.
It's not clear who circulated the flyer.
But Powerline blog says the memo then attacks what it refers to as the "Israel lobby," accusing it of splitting the vote from the black community to "ensure that Blacks don't get political power in the Senate."
The flyer also accused "apartheid" Israel of training law enforcement in the United States to "set up paramilitary police armies in minority neighborhoods."
Baltimore for days was embroiled in violence and mayhem, as community residents clashed with police after the death of Freddie Gray. Six officers have since been charged with murder, assault, manslaughter and other offenses.
