I may move to Susquehanna County ... where the government still reads the Constitution:
In true David versus Goliath form,
one small-town Pennsylvania board of commissioners has passed a resolution to
stand strong against any federal law that infringes on the Second Amendment.
The resolution from Susquehanna
County Commissioner Michael Giangrieco reads: “Any federal act, bill, law, rule
or executive order that in any way infringes on our Second Amendment rights by
attempting to reduce the private ownership of any firearm, magazine or
ammunition shall be unenforceable in Susquehanna County,” the Times-Tribune
reported.
The resolution – admittedly,
largely ceremonial -- passed. Giangrieco said he was prompted to introduce
it because of neighboring New York’s crackdown on gun rights. New York Gov.
Andrew Cuomo just signed into law a restriction on purchases of ammunition
magazines that hold seven rounds.
“The Constitution is in place to
protect us from the government. They’ve got it backwards,” he said, of
governments that restrict Second Amendment rights, the Times-Tribune reported.
